Hawaiian Momi Poe Poe Style Seashell Choker Lei Necklace

Traditional Hawaiian Niihau style Momi Shell Poe Poe Choker Lei. This is a six strand, 18 total inch Choker Lei necklace. This is the traditional Poe Poe style of special Lei made on the forbidden island of Niihau, Hawaii, and is customarily worn for special events, weddings or other important ceremonies. This style Lei's shells are specially pierced and strung such that the finished Lei resembles a tightly wound rope. The Momi shell colors are natural color. The Lei is finished with two Granulated Bumpy Cowrie Shells and clasp. These shell Leis are very precious as these shells are very rare, normally found only on the island of Niihau, selected few beaches of Kauai and rarely the North Shore of Oahu.
