The coloration in this shell is deep, dark green with very little hints of pink at the crown and gold on the top of the knuckles. Shells of this nature are referred to by locals as "Moonrise Shells" due to their dark shade of green color. They are also sometimes called "Black Sunrise Shells". The underside of the shell is a solid dark color. This striking shell is in perfect condition with no cracks, holes or chips - it's wings are square and it is a consistently thick shell. What a Gorgeous shell! Beyond description... but I'll try. First of all this shell has a very pronounced double bump showing a distinct growth line, and the smaller, inner section of the shell (nearest the hinge & wings area) is watermelon colored around the white center! Beyond the growth line the shell flairs out to an extremely wide and perfectly round shape, and is a vivid Tangerine color! There are crisp white stripes on both sides and white flecks throughout the colors. The ribs are beautifully formed with plenty of bumps, the scallop edges are clean with a nice ruffle and the wings are perfectly squared. This is an absolutely beautiful seashell in every way! Its size is slightly larger than 1 1/8 inch.

So hard to describe this amazing Sunrise Shell I'm just going to name it my "Hippie Shell"! It has a psychedelic rainbow of color patterns, starting with a bright red outline at the hinge (top) that extends downwards in stripes of red. In the center of the hinge area the color is a pearly light pink, but there's also a splash of light blue / purple. There is a distinct growth ring, and from there the colors extends down the ribs to the scallop ruffled edges in stripes of green and yellow. On both sides below the wings are orange & white tiger stripes. Quite trippy!

The coloration in this beautiful Sunrise Shell is green & blue / gray with hints of blended yellow at the wings and scallop edges. Shells of this coloration are referred to by locals as "Moonrise Shells" due to their dark shade of blue or green color. They are also sometimes called "Black Sunrise Shells". This mature bottom shell is 1 1/16 inch in size with a wide / round shape, smooth, even ridges and crisp scallop edges. This rare green shade is one of my favorite seashell colorations, and is the color of the shell I wear daily.

The underside is a dark grey. There is a crown of greyish-white color at the hinge area as shown in the pictures. The wings are intact and there are no holes or chips in the seashell. The shell is 1 1/4 inches in size. It has a pronounced growth ring (I call it a double bump) near the top hinge area, then the remainder of the shell has smooth wide ribs extending to the scallop edges. A mature shell, it is thick and solid throughout.
